More from the Nancy Drew Cookbook: Hidden Staircase Biscuits

There are so many funny recipes in here, but no pictures, so I may just blog a few more recipes. This one is intriguing, and not just from the name.

Hidden Staircase Biscuits

1 can 10-count refrigerator buttermilk biscuits

2 tablespoons butter

10 sugar lumps

1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice

Heat the oven to 425F. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil. Separate biscuits and place them on the pan. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Spoon or brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter. Dip each sugar lump into the cherry juice. Push the lumps into the tops of the biscuits. Bake the biscuits for 10 minutes. Serve piping hot.

“A mystery taste: Try using maple sugar, which is much sweeter than regular white sugar. But use smaller lumps.”

This sounds a little odd.
