This stitch makes me think of spring. It is from my vintage Harmony Guide to Knitting. The Harmony Guides are always my favorite stitch encyclopedias, though there is no good index. Librarians hate that!
Here’s the stitch pattern:
Multiple of 8+7
1st row (right side) Knit.
2nd and every alt row: Purl
3rd row: K3, *yf, sl 1 k1, psso, k6; rep from * to last 4 sts, yf, sl 1, k,1 psso, k2.
5th row: K1, *k2tog, yf, k1, yf, sl 1, k1, psso, k3; rep from * to last 6 sts, k2tog, yf, k1, yf, sl 1, k1, psso, k1.
7th row: As 3rd row.
9th row: Knit.
11th row: K7, *yf, sl 1, k1, psso, k6; rep from * to end.
13th row: K5, *k2tog, yf, k1, yf, sl 1, k1, psso, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
15th row: As 11th row.
16th row: Purl.
Rep these 16 rows.
